Bar W Ranch
History
Watkins Ranch is owned and operated by Tim and Pam Watkins.

Tim has owned horses all his life and began breeding, training and riding registered AQHA Quarter
Horses
in 1978. His first AQHA registered horse was a dun gelding named Spanish Sport Play
nicknamed
Sporty. Sporty was well-bred with such great horses as Clabber Bar, Skipper W  and Miss
Spanishette
in his bloodlines. Tim's next horse was a bay gelding named Eternal Bar Kid. He was bred
by Kleinpeter Quarter Horses of St. Francisville, LA. Bar Kid had super bloodlines with such greats as

Eternal Sun, King's Copy, Star Girl Copy and Scroggins Littlestar
in his pedigree.
  These
two AQHA horses helped Tim to win many High-Point Championships in the Washington
County Sheriff's Posse
and the North Mississippi Western Horse Show Association. They won in
barrel racing, pole bending, arena race, flag race, quadrangle stakes, 50 yard dash, reining,
showmanship, halter, western pleasure, western riding, trail
and many other events.
  Watkins Quarter Horses
began with Tim, his Dad, Calvin Sr., and his brother Cal Jr. The three of
them bought several horses with outstanding pedigrees.
Many of the bloodlines found in these horses
are still influential in the Watkins Ranch breeding program today. Some of the horses that have most
